Paul and the Philippians understood this well because they lived lives that were others-centered, which is an important key to contentment. They also modeled it by getting concerned with God's work and entering into God's solutions. The passage also shows us that as we keep God first in our lives, we will find contentment, even in the areas of our finances. The Philippians were very faithful and as a result, they were given an amazing promise in return: that God will supply all of their needs according to His riches and glory.
