As Christ followers, we need to appreciate these excuses and help people through their reasons so they can better understand the reality of God's calling on their lives. In Matthew chapter 11, we see that some people have developed a calloused heart where Jesus wants to restore that sensitivity (Ezek 36:26). Others may apply an excuse they learned along the way, but the Holy Spirit wants to help you to dismantle those arguments (1 Cor 10:5). Although many say that they believe, Jesus teaches us that true belief is repentance, which means belief must also turn and follow Jesus. According to Jesus, Jesus is not "a" way, He is the only way.
